Confirm your product's exact dimensions before design starts — a box designed to slightly wrong measurements means a reprint. If your product needs regulatory or ingredient information on the packaging, share those requirements at the brief stage, not after artwork is finalized.
Always approve a physical prototype before committing to a full print run, even for a design you're confident about — how a box looks on screen and how it folds and prints can differ.
Skipping the prototype stage to save time is the most common one — a structural issue caught after a full print run is far more expensive than a delayed launch.
