Eco-friendly corporate gifts that are not just labelled eco

A sustainable gift either replaces something disposable or it is made from material that would otherwise be waste. Anything else is a claim printed on a catalogue page.

Bamboo, cork, jute, wheat fibre, borosilicate glass, recycled 304 stainless steel and recycled ocean plastic — branded by engraving and print in Dubai, with the material stated on every item so your sustainability team can check it.

What actually makes a corporate gift sustainable

Two things, and a bamboo-coloured logo is neither. A gift is sustainable if it replaces something disposable — a reusable bottle instead of plastic ones, a travel cutlery set instead of takeaway forks — or if it is made from material that was already waste, such as recycled ocean plastic or recycled steel.

The third test is longevity. An item that breaks in a month has consumed material for nothing, whatever it was made of. That is why the list below leads with durable products rather than novelty ones, and states the material on every entry so a procurement or ESG team can check the claim rather than take it.

All items come from our 2026–2027 corporate gifts catalogue.

Branding sustainable materials

Laser engraving is the natural match. It adds no ink, no coating and no second material — it simply removes a layer — and on bamboo, cork and wood it produces a warm, permanent mark that looks better than any print. On recycled steel it behaves exactly as it does on new steel.

Glass takes frosted engraving rather than a print. Jute, cotton and non-woven bags take screen printing, which is economical at volume; water-based inks are worth asking for if the sustainability claim has to hold up. Wheat fibre and eco leatherette take UV printing and debossing.

One warning worth stating plainly: a sustainable gift wrapped in laminated plastic packaging undoes its own point. Recyclable kraft boxes, printed sleeves and paper inserts are all available through our packaging production, and are worth specifying at the same time as the gift.

Specifying a sustainable gift order

  1. Start from what it replaces. If the gift does not displace a disposable item or use recovered material, it is not a sustainability purchase.
  2. Ask for the material spec in writing, not the word "eco". Every item above names its material for that reason.
  3. Check the packaging at the same time. Kraft and paper, not laminated plastic.
  4. Choose engraving over print where the material allows it — no ink, and it lasts as long as the product.
  5. Prefer fewer, better items. One bottle that lasts five years beats three novelty gifts that last a month.

Sustainable corporate gift questions

What makes a corporate gift genuinely eco-friendly?

It either replaces something disposable — a reusable bottle, cup or cutlery set — or it is made from material that would otherwise be waste, such as recycled ocean plastic or recycled stainless steel. Longevity is the third test: an item that breaks quickly has consumed material for nothing, whatever it is made from.

Can you provide material certification for an ESG report?

Ask for it with the enquiry and we will request the available documentation from the manufacturer for the specific items you shortlist. Material specifications — 100% jute, borosilicate glass, recycled 304 stainless steel, wheat fibre, recycled ocean plastic fabric — are stated per product, which is the first thing any ESG reviewer will want.

Are bamboo and wooden gifts better than plastic ones?

Usually, because bamboo is fast growing and both bamboo and wood are biodegradable at end of life. The bigger factor is still use: a bamboo item thrown away after a week is worse than a plastic one kept for five years. Choose for durability first, material second.

Can the packaging be sustainable too?

Yes, and it matters. Recyclable kraft boxes, paper inserts and printed sleeves are all available in place of laminated plastic packaging, and are best specified at the same time as the gift rather than added at the end.

Do eco-friendly gifts cost more?

Not necessarily. Jute and non-woven bags and wheat fibre cups sit at ordinary giveaway prices. Recycled ocean plastic and cork items cost more than their conventional equivalents, but the comparison that matters is cost per year of use rather than cost per unit.

What is the most popular sustainable corporate gift in the UAE?

Reusable drinkware, by a distance. It carries a clear sustainability story, it is used daily in an office climate where everyone carries water, and it keeps a logo visible for years — which makes it the rare gift that satisfies both the sustainability team and the marketing team.
